What to scrutinise
Does the fee include visit frequency, replacements, planters, install/design fees? Plant size/spec, access and service level affect price; transparent quotes list plant hire/purchase and maintenance separately.
Hidden costs and trade-offs
Long-term rental can total 2–3× buying plus maintenance; but rental wins on flexibility, zero capex and easy restyling. Short-term/flexible spaces: rental; long-term fixed: buy plus maintenance.
