Most CNY plants can be kept growing or repurposed.
In this article
Kumquat
Keep long-term: bright spot, water when topsoil dries; prune, pot up or plant out, feed in growing season. Late-spring repotting stimulates next year’s flowering/fruiting around Lunar New Year.
Phalaenopsis orchid
Most worth keeping: a little water weekly, no standing water or direct heat. After blooming, cut the spike above a node to re-flower; if fully dried, cut at base and keep growing.
Peach blossom (cut)
Display only: change water every 1–2 days, re-cut stems at an angle. Potted peach can go outdoors but rarely re-flowers in HK’s mild winter.
Pussy willow
Air-dry and keep long-term as decoration.
General
Bright indirect light, avoid AC drafts and temperature swings; check daily, trim yellowing, wipe dust.
Tip: Orchids and kumquats are most worth keeping; we supply aftercare planters and substrate.
